Alpine Sleighs
Description 1968 - 1983
One of the most beloved and missed of the original park attractions, the Alpine Sleigh Ride was a unique, speedy dark ride through the Der Hofheinzberg mountain in the Alpine themed area. Within the interior of the mountain animated displays of gnomes, sudden drops, and cold blasts of air thrilled riders. This electric sled ride was developed by Arrow Development, consisted of 16 cars travelling along a concrete track, and featured an abominable snow man and a Snow machine. Closed due to high maintenance costs, the mountain became a walkthrough attraction as part of the Enchanted Kingdom children's area, and later part of the Batman: The Escape queue. |
