Ho-leee cow...

This is a huge win for Galveston: Leonard Pickel's original "Mayhem Manor" attraction is now a year-round one, built out in an older building on/near The Strand - now called "Haunted Mayfield Manor" -

I originally experienced this house at Six Flags Great America's Fright Fest back in 1995 (yup, 16 years ago), and to-date, it's the scariest (by way of high-startle) house I've ever been through. And I've been to Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando...

Back then, in high school, I literally had 9 other friends with me in a line, and we were absolutely horrified.

This is a must-visit for everyone (bring at least 3 friends along - it's scary as poop, startle-wise, but not malicious and overbearing like houses like Phobia can get). Tons of suspense, incredible scare tactics. The maze is actually on a triangular grid, so many of the scares come at you from the front (30-degrees toward you, each side). As I recall, the scenes are separated by pitch-black twists, which heighten suspense greatly.

Anyway, go, go, go! I'm ecstatic it seems it will be a permanent attraction in Galveston. (Just look at Galvatraz, with all it's great, touristy stuff growing and growing!...)

That is cool. Leonard is a very cool nice guy. Glad he got to do another haunt in the Houston area.
