Went on Thursday. I was impressed with the level of staffing and the overall attitude of the staff. Texas Giant opened in the afternoon, but the first car was closed on both trains. It was rough as hell. Shock Wave was open. I had thought I read somewhere that it was closed for the season for a refurbishment, it definitely did not seem like it has had any refurbishment The park wasn't overly crowded, especially in the evening. It seems like they are taking some queues from Disney (on staffing and other things), and this is a good thing. If the other SF parks look like and are being run like SFOT, I think they are on the right track (IMO). Of course now that they are in bankruptcy, whose knows what will happen.
BTW, I really love the lemonade from the little vending cart guys. _________________ |

They are remanufacturing the track on Shockwave a few sections at a time during the off season. You probably won't notice any difference on the ride itself since nothing has really changed...just new sections of steel. _________________ Jason |

I was also impressed with the park upon visiting it. It was clean, the staff was friendly and courteous, and they gave out free ice water at the food booths! Considering it was over 100 degrees that was not only courteous of them but it also kept the guest safely hydrated.
Also I had bought a season pass online with the intent of catching a few rides first then taking a break to get it processed later in the day since the ticket booth lady said they did not close until 8PM. Well by the time I made it back to the processing center at 6PM it had already closed. So I went to guest relations and the gentlemen got right on the phone and sent someone over to meet me at the processing area. They were quick, courteous, and I got my season pass.
As for the rides every one was open and running smooth with short lines and no mechanical issues. However The Giant was as rough as ever and going down Titan in the middle of the afternoon heat felt like having a blast furnace coming right at you I also got back to back rides on Mr. Freeze right before the park closed. While exiting the park I caught the glow in the dark parade which was not really on my list of must see attractions but was nonetheless pretty good. The speed and precession at which they mark off and then remove the parade route is impressive. _________________ An Apple a day keeps Windows away
