But, new shows a plenty, I understand. I think it's good six flags keeps the roots for this park pure and remembers that it started as a show park.

regardless of what wooden inverted glow in the dark 4-d they get their shows have always been on the better side. I remeber when I was a kid and I went there with my parents and we watched this projection on the cliff wall with a big hugh cowboy and he came out with a hammer and pick and started hammering out the shape of Texas on the cliff and sparks would comeout every time he struck it. That night show was the coolest. Must have been in the early to mid 90's. BTW, do they still do that show?

Well, instead of the cowboy doing the hammering, a giant hand just comes out and smashes out the shape of texas. Yeah, they've still got that show going. Dubbed "The NEW Lone Star Spetacular". Quoting from the park map, "End your day at FT with this state-of-the-art laser and fireworks extravaganza. Premiering in 2003, this NEW ediot explores the traditions and heritage found in the great state of Texas. Projected on the quarry wall, this truly multi-media experience is a perfect ending to the Fiesta Texas adventure." It's basically been the same show forever with new athletic people added and the military part added. They also added a woman cow(girl?) into the mix. They still have that one part where the cities show and everyone cheers for their city and etc. Yep. Smile

That show is amazing. It uses powerfull lasers and projectors along with some very carefully placed pyro. I think it is the best outdoor show I have ever seen at any park (Including Disney and Universal)

It's just one more reason that Fiesta is one of my favorite parks even though it has fewer coasters.

I dunno. I think i like FantasMic better than Lone Star, but I'm not really sure you could compare the two fairly.

Fantasmic is a great show(Disneyland version not Florida), full of floating sets, pyro and projection and I guess as a show, your right, it is better. BUT it's only better if it's not down for rehab (which keeps happening to me) and you can get a good viewing spot.

Watching Fantasmic in Disneyland while worth the effort, takes a lot of effort and patience just to watch a 20 minute show.

In Florida, Fantasmic is not worth waiting for. While similar to the show in Disneyland, it just seems to fall short.

I believe the reason is the same reason the show is so hard to watch at Disneyland. At DL, the Rivers of America is used and the viewing area is the walkway. Everything is close. So in Florida, they build a huge stadium to accomadate the crowds and the show loses the intamicy that it had in California. The show is huge and spread out in Florida and I think that takes away from the exprerience. Of course the same can be said about any attraction duplicated in Florida.

Getting back on topic, I would have to say the Lone Star Spectacular is more enjoyable than any show Disney has to offer. The relaxed atmosphere and the setting the show against that huge wall of the rock quarry make it number 1 for me.

a little off topic, but not really...while i was down with disney, i had to be trained as a show host at fantasmic before starting at coaster. Well, my trainer was friends with one of the show techs and we traded one of our breaks for a chance to get to "ride the mountain." If you've seen the show, Mickey pops out of no where at the front of the mountain in the beginning of the show and at the peak of the mountain at the end of the show. Well, I got to do that. Lots of fun. Talk about major airtime. I also got to ride Malificent's cauldron....good times.
