Does SFoGa still have a parachute drop? Has it been removed?

It was removed at the end of 2005.

I remember when the Texas Chute Out went in at SFoT. It was the hottest amusement ride in the industry at the time. Of course, it is quite tame by todays standards if you compare it to Dungeon Drop or Superman: Tower of Power. But, it was exciting none the less. The really brave folks would ride the baskets that you stood up in. They would run all eight (or was it ten?) baskets, and the line was still quite long. It will be kind of sad to see it go, especially since it has been such a part of SFoT for so longl.

BTW, why did they reduce the number of operational baskets to just three or four?

Because no one hardly rode it. No need to run them all , when there is no demand.
