|
|
Me and my best friend want to go to Schlitterbahn next month.
Only thing is that we cant decide whether to go to Galveston or New Bransfels. We have already gone to New Bransfels 2 years ago and it was great , but we are thinking about trying SB Galveston. I have seen the pics of SB Galveston and they don't look so spectacular.
So should we try Galveston or just skip it and go straight to New Bransfels?
I would like some opinions please!
Thanks |

The New Braunfels park will be pretty hard to beat no matter what they build elsewhere. Nothing like having a park along a river fed by natural springs that also feed the rides in the park.
The Galveston park is nice and is something the area needed, but it can't compare to the original
That said, I've been and had a great time there and plan on going back. I definitely want to try it out in the winter months. There is a good selection of rides and the torrent river is pretty cool. It's certainly a lot closer to the Houston area than New Braunfels. _________________ Jason |

Well I say Schlitterbahn New Braunfuls. I mean its your choice but you have more a choice there. Its a huge park so why not go to somewhere worth the trip. You may get a sunburn or get you knee scraped with the stuff on the bottom of the pool but why let that stop you going to there So why not make your why to Americas Best WaterPark and also home to the Master Blaster...Well Have fun! _________________ - Make the Stage Your Wonderland - |

I agree, the atmosphere and selection really make New Braunsfels a no-brainer. Galveston is more of a "Eh, I have nothing else to do this weekend" kind of place and New Braunsfels is a trip! You can't beat NB! _________________ Too much music for you to handle.

I went on July 14th it was very crowded and the lines were long I spent the day on the wave river... It was ok fun for the day.
Why in the world do all the these parks close in mid august? Is it because they assume that they will not draw a crowd due to school being back in session?? |

That would be the reason they go to weekend only operation, yes. And they don't assume they would not draw a crowd...they know they wouldn't. _________________ Jason |

They close in mid august because most of their labor goes back to school as well as that same demographic is the weekday guest.
Next year a new law goes into effect that prohibits public schools from starting until labor day. Bet these parks will be open right through the holiday.
Good for the hotels as well.

Tod--
Is that law just for the NB area? or is it state wide?
Just curious... _________________ If Houston were a dog, she'd be a mutt with 3 legs, one bad eye, fleas the size of corn nuts, and buck teeth. Despite all that, she'd be the best dog you'll ever know."

I beileve its a state law.
I heard it reffered to as the "Six Flags Bill" while it was being discussed. |

| The law pushes the start back to the 4th Monday in August, so not quite all the way to Labor Day. |
