All this talk of Frisbee really makes me miss Fiesta Texas. I remember riding it when it was first installed, where Boomerang is now. I must have been lucky, because I don't remember anything tame about it. It was near the end of the season, and there wasn't much of a line. Everyone riding loved it, and as we cheered, the ride op kept kicking it up a notch. That had to be the longest cycle I had ever gotten on it. It was just insane. Ever since then I've been hooked.
Now that I'm up here in Ohio, I have the Giant Frisbees (MaXair and Delirium), but they just don't compare. |

I'll claim the "fence riding" position. I like the ride but can't say I "love" it. But, I don't hate it either.
The first time I rode it was mid-day, scorching hot, and I was stomach-ill for several hours afterwards. I didn't plan to ride it again, but one evening Wife of... wanted to try it so I rode with her.
It was almost dark and not as hot; I actually enjoyed it except for the slow down to stop. That's when it turned my stomach a bit. But, the affects were gone within a few minutes, instead of hours.
I've been on it once since then, early evening again, and although I still got the 'affects' at "slow down to stop", it's gone once I'm off the ride.
So although I enjoy it when it's spinning really fast mid-cycle, because it does turn my stomach a bit at the end, it's not a "must" for me. I don't ride it when it's just my husband and myself - just when I'm with Wife of... _________________

HA ...
AIRTIME BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there are a couple of spots during its cycle where you might feel like you left your stomach on the other end of the ride _________________ Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skin in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming "WOOHOO What A Ride!" |

Honestly, there's really no other ride to compare it to. To me it has a mix of certain elements from a scrambler (the feeling when the car races to the outside, then quickly pulls back to the inside of the ride), the S.S. Overboard (for swinging back and forth), and a Roundup (for the spinning). That's the closest I can come to a comparison.
As far as riding, all I can say is what several here basically told me before I rode the first time: "Give it a try!" That's really the only way you're going to know whether it's a ride you can handle, and/or a ride you'll like and enjoy. If you don't like it, don't ride it again; but like Wife of..., you might find you love it and want to ride every time you're at the park! _________________

After reading this thread I almost want to go back and give the Frisbee another try. The way I am, I hate visiting a park knowing theres a ride I was "afraid" to ride. However I think with most flats, it was the spinning that really got to me. I LOVE rides that spin upside down such as swat and Looping Starship(miss those two) but I think most people know their limits. I'll say Tomb Raider the ride, at Kings Island was a rather interesting surprise. I would not have ridden that ride under any circumstances had I known beforehand but it turned out to be quite a nice rush! _________________ ...so long and thanks for all the shoes. |
