Six Flags Fiesta Texas is remaking its popular waterpark with three new water rides and another children's play area.
The multimillion-dollar expansion is expected to open to park-goers May 6, although the theme park launches its spring season in early March.
The Whirlpool ride swirls riders with centrifugal force in a two-person tube around a 40-foot-diameter bowl before dropping through a corkscrew chute.
The Big Bender drops 50 feet through a series of dips, tunnels and twists passing in and out of darkness.
And the Hill Country Racer is a six-lane speed slide for races down a straightaway series of dips.
All three rides exist in some form at other Six Flags Inc. parks. ProSlide Technologies of Ottawa, Canada, is manufacturing the rides. _________________ Jason |

From what I understand they got the 6-lane racing slide (not sure what it was called at WaterWorld) and some of the smaller kids attractions. The other 2 new slides will be new. _________________ Jason |

| It was Ozarka Splash at WaterWorld. Kind of odd cause there was another Ozarka Splash just over the tracks in AW. |

| Superheroes and the Bugs Bunny family. From what I understand it is going to be pretty neat. |

The parade was pretty neat although short. It should get longer though as they get more costumes.
It featured the Rockville High School band, Bugs and friends and the Justice League characters. _________________ Jason |

Do they have any floats or cars or anything? The pics that /\ has makes it look very small and short... That seems like it might be disappointing. _________________ If Houston were a dog, she'd be a mutt with 3 legs, one bad eye, fleas the size of corn nuts, and buck teeth. We saw the parade. Very cute. No cars or anything, themed like the Rockville Section. We sat next to the High School and they did commentary on the parade and the High School Groups that were in the parade. My daughter was handed a baloon as they were giving them away, we had beads thrown at us, candy, they shot streamers (actually the Science Club shot them, HAHAHA).
It was about 15 minutes long and really enjoyable. My son about passed out when Robin shook his hand. |

|
|
We were able to get our hands on a poster-sized park map today, and the "new" water park is shown on the map; more specifically, the slide from AW. I had wondered if it would be - if they knew far enough in advance (about the slide from AW) to prepare the artwork and have it on this year's map.
It's located at the 'front' of the park, on one side of the Texas-shaped pool. I don't recall how tall it was (at AW), so I wonder if it can be seen from the parking lot as guests are walking up to the park. I'll try to get a digital picture of that section of the map and post it, for anyone interested.
Once it's "built" and open, I'll try to get some photos to post as well. _________________ |
