Chaos rides have been having accidents all over the country so I definetly understand why parks are getting rid of them. All Six Flags parks are getting rid of their Chaos rides and some other parks are as well (such as Hersheypark).

Confused what happened to them? for them to be taken out of a park it must have been something bad, right?

When several (2 or 3, maybe 4 different installations) rides (Chaos) with the exact same format (spinning flat ride with free-wheeling cars) from the exact same manufacturer (Chance Rides) start experiencing the same bad accidents (cars loaded with people that ended up on the ground), it's time to retire them.

That's rather ... something.... if Cedar Point hasn't removed their Chaos. IIRC, one of these incidents happened at one of Cedar Fair's parks. Even stranger, I thought for some reason that Chance-Morgan decided to pull all the installations.

There was a retrofit that could be done to keep the pin sheering from occurring. Some parks chose to fix the ride, some chose to take them out.
I think in Michican's Adventure's case, it was good PR just remove the ride since it had rolled out into the midway. (Well not really, but it fell and rolled a few feet)

I know they took the ride out of Fiesta and SFNO and my best guess is economics played a part in not spending the money on fixing the ride. It was probably pretty pricey.

I could see why Cedar Point did spend the money to fix their CHAOS as it was touted as the big new ride in one of their non coaster years.

It WAS a fun ride though....even if it was a slightly nauseating one.

Cedar Point's Chaos is a pain to operate...batnick will learn that pretty soon.
