Video Files
- Who makes your videos?
Jason Knutson creates most of the videos you see featured on SixFlagsHouston.com.
Panther Modern has also contributed videos.
- Can I link to/borrow/use footage from your videos?
SixFlagsHouston.com takes pride in its unique content and does not allow any
other website to use our videos. In the case of linking, websites may link
to our main page [http://www.sixflagshouston.com] ONLY.
You may NOT link directly to any video.php file or to the actual
video file itself. This is against
SixFlagsHouston.com's Terms of Service, not to mention
unfairly leeches SixFlagsHouston.com's copyrighted material and bandwidth.
- What are your videos filmed with?
Most of the videos featured on this site (that are filmed
by Jason Knutson) are filmed with a Sony TRV340 camera.
The camera records Digital 8, resulting in high quality video. Videos
filmed by Panther Modern are recorded in MiniDV format on a Panasonic DV-404.
- What do you use to edit your videos?
Pinnacle Studio 9 is used to edit the videos made by Jason Knuston.
Adobe Premier is used by Panther Modern for video editing.
- How can I make videos like yours?
As much as we'd like to help individuals in making their own videos, we
are unable to do this. It has taken years of experience to perfect the
techniques seen in videos, and we encourage everyone to be creative with their
videos. Instead of attempting to copy a certain effect, we encourage you try
a new or different one.
The internet is full of copycat websites and visitors want original
content.
- Why can't I view your videos?
There are a number of reasons you may not be able to view our videos.
First, if you have a slower connection, the videos may be downloading
unknowingly to you in the first place. The embedded video files do not
always have a status bar of the download. We recommend turning on your
Status Bar to see the progress. Second, our videos are recorded in either
Windows Media 8 or Windows Media 9, please check with
The Microsoft Windows Media Website
to ensure you have the proper codecs to play these formats. If all else fails, you can save the
file directly to your computer by using the 'Raw File' link below each
video. Right click the link and choose "Save Target As" to save it to your
computer. You should then be able to view the video with your software then.
Forum Questions
- Why can't I login?
When registering, visitors MUST provide a valid e-mail address. A
confirmation e-mail will be sent to the address provided with a validation
link. A user must then click on the link to validate his/her account. The
account will NOT work until a user clicks on the link. This is done so to
prevent fraudulent e-mail addresses. It's useless to enter a fake email
unless you don't plan on registering. This abuse is not tolerated. If you
delete the e-mail that is sent to you, that's your problem. Another common
problem from AOL users is the user's email has either reached its limit or
is not accepting emails from people. It is the user's responsibility to
ensure their email settings are correct and can accept emails. You wouldn't
believe the number of confirmation emails that are bounced back to us
stating the user isn't accepting emails.
- Why does it say my
e-mail is banned when I have never even registered at this site?
Due to a large number of false accounts being created, no account can be registered with an email
originating from a variety of free email websites (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.). By
using a normal ISP email account, instead of a free online one, this problem
can be bypassed quite easily.
General Site Questions
- How long has SixFlagsHouston.com been on the
web?
SixFlagsHouston.com has been online since September 1999.
- Who works on SixFlagsHouston.com?
Numerous people work on the site. Major contriubutors include Panther Modern, Christopher
Daniello, Jason Knutson and Mike Robinson. Historical photos on the site are kindly donated
from various sources. Current photos are either the product of Jason Knutson or are donated
from Six Flags AstroWorld. Photos are copyrighted and may not be used on other websites without
prior permission. We generally frown on other people posting our work, but will evaluate each
request on it's own accord. Should you desire to use any information contained on this website
(such as the park timeline, etc) please credit us and link back to us on the page in which you
post the information. A considerable amount of time went in to the research and coding of
SixFlagsHouston.com.
- Why don't you post the park hours, days of operation or pricing information?
SixFlagsHouston.com is a tribute site run by individuals who share a love of roller coasters.
WE ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH SIX FLAGS THEME PARKS OR SIX FLAGS ASTROWORLD
IN ANY OFFICIAL CAPACITY. Therefore, we feel it best that the OFFICIAL Six Flags website
located at http://www.sixflags.com is the best resource for finding
current pricing information and days of operation. It would be a futile attempt to try to keep up with the
companies most current policies on an on-going basis.
- Can I be on the web team at SixFlagsHouston?
SixFlagsHouston.com does not currently need any programmers, graphic artists, or forum moderators.
- I'm from the media and would like to use you/your site for a story.
SixFlagsHouston.com does not work directly with the media. We do not grant interviews, nor do we grant permission
for news services to use our copyrighted material. The news media are evil vultures, and we do not trust them. We
already made that mistake once, and now we all pretty much think that Houston Press can suck it.
